WHAT IS DANCE/MOVEMENT THERAPY?The American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA) defines dance/movement therapy as the psychotherapeutic use of movement to promote emotional, social, cognitive and physical integration of the individual.
We aim to expand awareness of the power of our stories and the implementation of Dance/Movement Therapy as an essential therapeutic modality. As such, we will continue to support the voices of those who have been historically underrepresented while motivating and fostering lasting change. This is done by educating policymakers, schools, and communities of the therapeutic benefits associated with Dance/Movement Therapy.
