Her books have been translated into Korean and Chinese and are used as textbooks for graduate and undergraduate programs in the United States and abroad. She teaches her work internationally.
Levy is an innovator in the area of the arts in psychotherapy. In the 80's, she formalized a method, which she came to call psychodramatic movement therapy, combining nonverbal expression with psychodramatic methods. Having come from both a dance and art background, she later added the use of the visual arts and now refers to her work as multimodal psychotherapy or integrative arts psychotherapy. Over the last 30 years, through her writing, teaching and practice, Levy pioneered the integration of the arts in psychotherapy and continues teaching and utilizing this work today.
Dr. Levy will lecture on Friday, October 25, 2013, 4:15 pm.
