March 21 marks World Down Syndrome Day (WDSD). First observed in 2006, WDSD became officially recognized by the United Nations in 2012, and it is being celebrated this year in several countries throughout Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, and the Americas.
A few weeks ago, I was researching Down Syndrome (DS) and dance/movement therapy for my own work with children who have developmental disabilities, and was excited to find an article written by specialists in DS and physical therapy on the benefits of using *Laban Movement Analysis concepts in working with this population.
